Perdido Street Station by China Mieville

I got to page 113 after four days and uttered the Eight Deadly Words. This book is full of description and in the first 113 pages almost nothing happens, but boy, do we know what things look like. It's just the wrong kind of book for me.

The book is set in what might be a very far future Earth and there are many races. The book centers on one city and its justice system and inhabitants. I don't know what happens.
