One of the things I want to do is to continue to clear stuff out from the kitchen that I haven't used in years. I can't get anything down from the top shelves of the cupboards myself and I plan to call the cleaning boss and see about paying the cleaning lady a bit extra to empty those shelves and wipe the dust off. There's a batch of small discrete things I can do to help prepare for that and yesterday I went through two lower shelves of herbs, spices, oils, vinegars, etc. I used to be a great cook and I brought a lot of stuff with me 15.7 years ago that I haven't used at all. A lot of the liquids were solid! I'm keeping one of the lazy susans and it's not quite filled with things and that opens up a bottom shelf to put the few glass casseroles I use at a good height for me to lift to & from. Some of the spices were so old they were in glass bottles, so I worked with bags in the recliner to empty those out and then put them in recycling.
So since I got too tired, I'm not doing the third heavy-lifting-with-shoes-on thing today, which was setting up the porch fountain for the summer. I've done the other two -- moved books along the top of bookcases above my head, and replaced the flapper in my toilet (to confirm that it's actually the inlet valve that needs replacing and I can't do that these days and will have to call a plumber). I've moved the fountain to tomorrow, but Sundays have big papers and I don't usually get anything extra done those days.
