05:04 pm: Fruit 2 Zero
I saw Fruit2O advertised on TV as having a new sub-brand with electrolytes and went to look it up. Since they advertise no calories, I figured it had some other kind of sweetener, but it took me almost 10 minutes clicking buttons on what turned out to be the Kelloggs' site to find out it was Splenda. I wonder why they hide that? Lots of people would rather have artificial sweetener; in my situation, I'd rather go with the glucose.

The concept of 'isotonic drink with sweeteners' completely escapes me.

In any case, I hate the taste of artificial sweeteners, and I hate the UK habit of doing half and half - it's very difficult to find any soft drink here that doesn't contain at least *some* sweetener.

A lot of Americans can't get enough sweet stuff. A restaurant doesn't just offer apple pie, it's apple pie with caramel, fudge, whipping cream, ice cream, and sprinkles.

I was looking at the Fruit2O as a substitute for the Gatorade, because something without calories would be good, but I'm not convinced artificial sweetener is actually any better than glucose, even without calories.

My philosophy is that I'd rather use soemthing that might not be overly good for me, but at least I can judge its effects than a chemical coctain that could trigger god-knows-what.

Seeing that I have allergies not stuffing more artificial crap into my body than necessary always seems like a good idea.
