01:23 am: 9 Ded Crickets...

... and I was the one who killed them. These two cats aren't are interested in them. I planned to be back online sooner, but it looks like I'm going to have to find time to see my primary doctor. My left leg around the knee is swollen and sometimes the knee just drops. So far, all the places I have set to hang on to have worked.

And now, my yearly medical database has died. It's on Microsoft Works, which still worked up until a few days ago (Windows 7 has decided it isn't allowed anymore). Fortunately, I have a backup and can add the most recent from the papers I file. I'm going to have to find something else that works like MSWorks, and then it will take time to get done.

I managed to get the bed linens off and washed and the clean ones on, I'm looking forward to sleeping there.

I can't convert Works, but if you can export the data to Excel and send me a couple of sample records, I could build you a standalone Filemaker database. That will take a couple of weeks, though.

Thanks, but it's really dead. The data is junk.

Here's to smooth restoration from the backup. That kind of stuff makes me paranoid. Yesterday I sat down and copied every phone number off my cell phone, just in case.

Doesn't it have a card? It's a lot safer that way, although the card can die.

It has a card, but I'm not sure if all the numbers are actually stored on it or not. I tried to pull a backup from the card, but if it's there, it's encoded in a way that makes it useless to anything but another of the same phones, I'm guessing.

I take photos and things off the phone regularly. Well, irregularly — when I remember.

I'm thinking of getting a card with larger space -- I have some folks I put in, and they don't turn up, and I think there must not be enough room.

Oh, how frustrating that Microsoft Works doesn't work any longer.
I lost my favorite and very old printing program when L upgraded the main computer. According to my techie brother-in-law the newer versions of the same program are all rubbish so I had to learn how to print address labels in Word (and I am such a dolt when it comes to learning new things on computers).
Glad you have a backup, hopefully you can work around it somehow.
And hope your doc can help with the knee. Until then, please be careful.

My knee is caring really better now -- it almost usually doesn't hurt. But I am having to use the sleeping med when I get to the point that I start hurting.
