When this arrived, I was surprised -- I have a professional tape of it -- but I figured I'd watch the DVD anyway.
It's three sailors who are in New York City for 24 hours who find dates for the night (all six famous actors/singers/dancers) and then dance/sing their way through the town. There's a betrayal that's fixed, and a moody dance by Gene Kelly that's two years earlier than the one in An American in Paris.
