07:05 pm: Spirit's Nose in my Hot Tea

I watched TV last night and then read the paper. I got to bed to read at 2:30am, after taking care of laundry and iced tea and so forth. I read until 4am but then slept until 3:30pm. I had two very weird dreams during the night and after I made myself wake up for the first, was coughing. I got some water and went back to sleep to get the second dream. I've also have really achy legs and arms for a few days and I don't know why. It's not on any of the new meds.

I was going to put the Comcast digital adapter in today, but it was too close to dark on a cloudy day to be able to see very clearly in the TV corner. The next day I have free is Thursday. I hope I'm sleeping less and hurt less, too.

After setting up the part of Sunday's paper that came today and making the grocery list for next week, I came over here to boot up the computer. Spirit followed me purring while she walked all over and I was typing as she stuck her nose into my very hot tea. She jerked her head out, sneezed, and went to bed. I would have stopped her if I'd seen her before!

The most recent count of death for the big storms is 341 and the missing is over 100.

146 horses were taken from a famous farm -- they were Polish Arabian -- because they were almost dead. Six had to be killed, seven are in medical care, and the others are out with other horse farms. They're worth about #30K each when in shape, but the owner will never get that back, even if the horses sell. I wish people would notice sick animals sooner.

Lara Logan, who was sexually assaulted while she reported in Cairo, is going to talk about it on "60 Minutes" on Sunday.

The FDA hasn't defined "gluten-free" yet, so companies can mark their products with that and still have gluten in them.

The US is buying underwear for our troops from the UK, who use the same for their troops. It's double-weave silk and while it doesn't stop bombs, it does keep fragments away from the groin and helps protect from infection.
