Howl's Moving Castle

This was a really good movie. Substanially faithful to the book, the anime is marvelous.

A young girl is continuing her father's hat business and when she tells a woman who turns out to be the Witch of the Wastelands that the shop is closed, she is cursed to be old. She can't face her mother and coworkers as an old woman, so she heads out toward the wastelands. She's led to Howl's Moving Castle, a wandering batch of junk, and finds magic, war, and eventually, her life.

Mishalak once told me I reminded him of Sophie's "never say die" spirit and I hope I actually embody that.

Highly recommended.
