Rain And Drain

After I got offline last night, I watched TV until 10pm, planning to read the newspaper then. I was falling asleep while I watched the last show, so I set the VCR to watch the late news and was in bed asleep by 10:15pm. I set the alarm for 2am, but woke up at 1:23am soaked again. I got up, watched the late news while I read the paper, drank the rehydration fluid, and then headed to bed at 4am. I read until 6am, came out to get the paper and watched a few minutes of the TV (still no agreement -- a shutdown will affect this area greatly), and went to sleep. More hot flashes, another soaking, and I woke up at 1:30pm, a half-hour before the alarm was set.

I headed out to get money for next week and on the way back in picked up Wednesday's and Thursday's mail. I got my pap smear result -- Low Grade Squamous Intraepithelial Lesion. It means I have to have the next pap smear in 12 months instead of 24. Not really a big deal, but I wasn't expecting it.

I didn't get back in time to make the appointment with my primary for the hot flashes and pain appointment, so I'll do that Tuesday.

ETA You'd think I'd remember to put in what the title is for. It's raining and the landscape guys, like every year, mulched the top of the drain that goes from under my ground-level balcony to the middle of the steps between my building and the next. That makes a lot of water come up on that part of the mulch, and maybe up on my balcony. I tried the handle of the broom to get the mulch out, which has worked before, and it didn't work, so I emailed our management guy.
