Phone Back in the Rice

I had to take a nap last night and got up when my phone alarm went off at 9:30pm. I figured I could watch a two-hour DVD and read the paper before midnight, so I was clearly out of whack with time. I did watch the DVD, but set the VCR to record the news and then read the paper, going to bed to read at 3:30am. I stopped at 4:30am and set the alarm for 1pm. I was awake every hour or so and was so sleepy I slept until 3pm and had trouble getting up from that. I need to be up at noon tomorrow to get to bookgroup on time, so I'm going to try to go to bed as early as possible.

During one of my hot flashes, the phone made the low battery noise and I brought it out to plug into the charger. When I got up, I unplugged it and it was off. Normally, if it's on when I plug it in, it stays that way. I opened it up, turned it on, and the front screen, with time & date, was working but none of the buttons did. So it's back in the rice. I'll check it tonight and if it's still bad, I'll check again tomorrow after bookgroup and if it doesn't work, buy the one I marked.

I took the DVD to the post office, which has a one-way parking lot, and as I was turning in the right way, I had a giant pickup truck try to make me back up into the cars behind me. Other people started getting out of their cars and yelling and showing her the obvious No Exit sign. She finally backed in to a spot and then pulled out the proper way.

I had lunch at Captain D's and my friend from the bookgroup who works there came on duty while I was still there. We had a few minutes of book talk and then he had to work.

The weather is truly wonderful today -- 76F and cloudy so no sunscreen needed. However, tomorrow, we're set for 54F and rain. Oh well.
