The gastro I saw a while back scheduled an MRI with contrast without telling me about the contrast. The Kaiser MRI nurse contacted me because they saw my labs and I said "Contrast?!" We decided not to have it because although there is an ameliorating treatment, people with labs like mine just shouldn't have contrast. So this week, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has decided that kidney patients should never have contrast because it causes an awful skin disease in some kidney patients. Bad doctor.
