07:47 pm: Better Movement, Less Pain

When I got back from Imaging last night, I finished online and read the rest of the paper. I got to bed to read at 1:30am and read until 3:30am. I had to stop partway through a story -- probably a novella -- because I was so sleepy. I set the alarm for noon, but when it went off, I told Loki and Junie that I needed to sleep more and reset it to 1pm. I woke up at 4:15pm -- the alarm was unset, but I don't remember doing that.

I used just the muscle relaxant today and while there's pain in the muscle, it's not like it was. We were supposed to have snow this afternoon, which is one of the reasons I didn't worry about sleeping until I woke up, but now we're apparently having a small amount of snow at midnight, then changing to freezing rain at 3am, and then non-freezing rain about 10am. So the people who commute will have to be careful, but I'll probably be fine going to get the groceries tomorrow.

When I mentioned Kelly's article on how our brains are changing, I should have put in the link so you can read it yourself.

Giffords may be struck by an Arizonan law that would elect someone to replace her.

JP Morgan Chase has defrauded/foreclosed on lots of military families. When troops are active-duty, they get 6% interest on mortgages. Chase kept them at 9 & 10%, and foreclosed. They plan to pay everybody back (I think someone should check that) and the spokeswoman said something odd: "and while any customer mistake is regrettable, we feel particularly badly about the mistakes we made here". She probably means they made a mistake with a customer, but that's not what she said.

An interesting article on those group coupon companies.

1. Good to read that the pain situation's improving, and hoping that the progress continues!

2. One more unwanted consequence of those shootings. Would that they had not happened.

3. JP Morgan/Chase - among others - apparently has a problem getting their act together on this sort of thing...?

(I need to read and re-read the articles in full.)

It's hard to tell what Chase was thinking. The reason they admitted they were charging too much is that a military family was suing them. They should have checked then and fixed everybody's instead of continuing to go to court, if they really didn't know.

Glad to hear you're in less pain today. Hope the snow will be manageable and not inconvenience you too much.

Some folks here have gone through the law and decided that it doesn't apply to her. It's a state law, and her position is federal.

It doesn't say anything. We've had others with that kind of problem, though -- Robert Byrd and Strom Thurmond, for example -- and nothing happens to them in the Senate.
