Less Ice and Snow

Last night I managed to watch TV and read the paper, then read in bed until 3am. At that point I was falling asleep and went ahead and did so. I woke up about every hour or hour-and-a-half to drink water. I realized in the morning that I should have gone all the way to the kitchen to bring a bottle of water back. I'd set the alarm for noon, but woke up with it unset at 1:30pm. I don't remember unsetting it.

I woke up because I didn't recognise the footsteps upstairs but when I looked outside, I saw the van Luke's grandson uses. When I knocked on the door to give him the mail that had been in my box, it turned out to be the other grandson -- the one that lives in Louisiana -- and Luke is moving from rehab to an assisted living place. He's really mad about it, particularly because he doesn't want to stay. His grandson -- the one he and his wife reared because his mother died very early -- was getting things to use in assisted living.

I took the trash and recycling out, got money for next week, and had Thai Peanut Saute and Tomato Basil Bisque soup (the young woman who brought me the soup pronounced it bis KAY) at Oodles of Noodles. I had to wash Spirit's bed -- she'd been vomiting again and I had never seen it in person -- and now I'm washing cat blankies.

Seventy-eight rabbits were found in a house -- the TV news said some were in the walls -- and fortunately, the owner willingly gave them to animal control.

The WashPost has a gallery of how newspapers have printed that shaved-head picture of Loughner. Some have purposely made him look mad.
