Medicare Donut Hole Check!

I got up at 3pm yesterday, still needing more sleep, and was on the computer, watched TV, and read the paper. I got to bed to read at 4am and set the alarm for 1pm. The second chapter of the book was also badly proofed and had things I already knew. I decided to look up cats in the index and there were two pages. Both just had "cats and dogs" and continued only with dogs, but I did see some sections where I knew things but there were interesting anecdotes. So I'm going to skim and just read things I don't know or anecdotes.

When the alarm went off, I reset it to 2pm and then got up. I went to the ATM to get money for the week and then the grocery store. They're still doing the gas thing and if you buy up to $50 or higher this week, you get 200 more points (that's 20 cents off a gallon). I looked at my list and thought it was probably just over $50 and I also had two of the $1-off-a-box litter coupons in case the litter was in. It wasn't, and when the cashier ran everything through the scanner, I was $.54 short. I turned and grabbed a Reese's Peanut Butter Cup packet and that put it over.

When I got home I put the perishable things away and then sat to look at the mail. My check for being in the donut hole came! I'd been told it might be in December, but this is much better. I started online, but a little before 6pm I had the not-understanding-what-words-mean thing. I haven't had that in a long time. I went to bed for about an hour (the dispenser gives out food at 7pm and Junie jumped off the bed lively enough that I woke up) and have been online since.

The City has been told by the Richmond lawyers they hired that trying to keep the adult shop from opening is "constitutionally inappropriate," although the councilmen still plan to make new laws for new shops.

A really interesting article on medics and medical care at point of injuries in Afghanistan; they're using some really old techniques and some really new techniques.

Sharron Angle has been running an ad for her campaign that has a picture of three Mexican men in Mexico and saying how bad they are. A class of mostly Hispanic kids asked her to come talk about the ad. She said she was "not sure that those are Latinos in that commercial" and the kids snickered. She also said "you know, I don't know that all of you are Latino. Some of you look a little more Asian to me" and she claimed to be the first Asian legislator in Nevada. mmmhmmm
