Catching Up

I got up at noon yesterday and between rainstorms went to the grocery to get Junie's pills and two boxes of kitty litter. After I got offline, I watched Operation Petticoat, which is another older movie that I really like. I had the machine record "Glee" while I watched "L&O:CI". We had some thunderstorms, but the cats were okay. I went to bed to read and to sleep a bit before 3am.

However, I woke up, really woke up, about 9am today, and decided to read, and in the process, finished the book. After I had the cats fed and read the front pages of the sections of the paper, I was sleepy so Spirit and I slept 2.5 hours, until 3pm. I can't go out today, it's Code Orange, so I'll take the trash and recycling out tomorrow.

Right after we got up and I was rolling up the duvet, Spirit nosed her way over to the other side of the living room and leaned out from the bottom of the end table there, trying to see things. I took the opportunity to slide the recliner and the end tables out, sweep, and then sit in a chair to clean the bottom shelves of the end tables. Not all at once, between reading online. As soon as I had it back in place, she walked back across the living room. I think the Prozac is really working.

We have the rescue squads doing body recoveries again from the Potomac. There are many signs in many languages that say no swimming in the river (very turbulent and fast) and not to climb down the rocks. On Monday, a Peruvian family climbed down to have a picnic and the mother stepped into the river and got pulled out into the big current; her 13-year-old daughter went in after her. There's almost never rescues, just recoveries. It would really help if people read and obeyed the signs.
