05:58 pm: Loki Turns Five
I sang him Happy Birthday, but I think he'd rather have dinner. I got up late enough to feed them their breakfast at 4pm so I think waiting a bit for dinner is better.

I ended up being able to bead a bit last night but I kept making mistakes so I watched the 2.5 hours of video I'd taped, which put me to bed at 4:30am. I figured I'd finish reading about 6am and set the alarm for 2pm. I actually finished the book by 6:15am and was asleep by 6:30am. I ended up sleeping until just before 3pm, so just a bit more sleep than eight hours.

It's in the 80s today so I opened the kitchen window and sliding glass doors in the living room. I'm washing my robe and other things like that and when they come out, I'll wash the slippers and [hot pads? - things you use to keep your hands from burning when you pick up hot things].

My test results from yesterday came back today from one doctor and they're normal for me.

Happy Birthday to Loki! My kittehs would both much prefer edible treats to any singing.

I'll say thanks for him! They all get snackies after they finish breakfast and it took a lot of time to find a brand that they all like, so I decided not to try something else.

Hot pads or pot holders, I use both terms kind of interchangeably.

Happy birthday to Loki!

I keep thinking that their other people didn't name them correctly, since Junie is clearly the trickster one.

I use both for the same objects--depends on current use. "Hot pad" if I'm setting something down on it, "pot holder" if I'm using to lift. I think there may also be some bias toward me saying "hot pad" if it's one of those quilted jobs with the silvery side, even if I'm lifting/holding.

Yes, that's how I use them. But I keep forgetting potholders.

Oh, potholders! I was taught that potholders were for the hand things and hot pads were for the things hot things were put on so they wouldn't hurt the table or something.

Yes, Junie is definitely more intereseted in getting our attention!
