05:50 pm: Tiger's Back! Art Buchwald Dies, and a Priest Embezzles and Leads a Secret Family Life
Tiger came by to see me today. Well, he really wanted to come in -- it's cold outside. But he looks fine.

Art Buchwald died last night. His daughter Jennifer answered questions online today. I can't find what he died of, but it's probably renal failure. I'm interested because I have renal failure and I'm not sure I want dialysis, either. The doctor says I'll need it some day.

A Catholic priest not only embezzled more than a million dollars from the two churches he led, when police went to search his house, they found a wife and three children. He'd told the neighbors he ran an import business and wanted to go back to the Philippines to run for President. He probably needed more than a million for that.

There's a tuxedo cat named Tazz in my apartment building. If he's outside when I come home, he nearly always insists on coming inside with me for a visit. If it's nighttime and cold out, sometimes the visit turns into an overnight. (And then I get an impatient cat in the morning, meowing for me to get out of bed and open the door to let him out.)

I'm concerned about Tiger's possibility for fleas and ticks, as well as how he might mingle with the other cats. Oh, and the CatGenie. If he was a stray, I'd take him in, but put him into quarantine first and have the vet see him. I don't know if I could manage exterminating fleas and ticks in the house without spending a lot of money.

I'm sure Tazz appreciates spending time with you!

A recent study said that about 85% of Catholic churches responding reported they'd had some embezzlement. Whoa.

Wow. Maybe they should pay the priests more.
