I'm pretty sure they picked Navy Air for this because a carrier is pretty scary even without a plane run by AI. We start out with the three top pilots for stealth -- a white man, a white woman, a black man (the Asians come in as the black man's dates) -- and they find out they're getting a fourth wingman named Eddie. That's EDI, an AI pilot whose nickname is Tinman. Their boss, and eventually they, refer to Eddie as "him" and he goes along with them on a sortie that drops a bomb into a partially-made building and only kills bad people. They land on the carrier during a rainy night and Eddie was hit by lightning. Turns out that makes him even smarter, and now he's channeling HAL (or "Answer"?). The humans get to vacation in Thailand and then go on another raid with Eddie. The woman sees that dropping a nuclear bomb there will also affect about a thousand civilians and their property so the white man (leader, of course) calls the raid off. Eddie insists on following orders and drops the nuke.
The three of them are ordered to try to get Eddie back to the carrier, but Eddie is smart and makes the black man fly into a mountain and the woman has to punch out into North Korea. The white man fights Eddie, but they eventually are both in trouble and promise to help each other and do. They're told to go to a secret base in Alaska where it turns out their boss has assassins waiting for the man. He figures this out and gets Eddie to take him to pick up the woman. In the end, Eddie dies in order to let them go over the border into South Korea.
I swear, I knew every plot bit long before it happened and it grabbed a lot of ideas from other movies. I kept hearing "Take My Breath Away" in my head. It wasn't bad for a night sitting in the recliner with a cat, but you don't need to pay attention to it.
