Madagascar

This was much like I expected: a good plot for kids and some deeper stuff for adults.

Four animals in the New York City zoo are friends, but the zebra wants to go to Connecticut. He gets out and the others follow him to bring him back. They get onto a train and when they get off, hundreds of police surround them. They get shot with knock-out darts and wake up in separate boxes on a ship. The ship also has penguins that have escaped from the zoo and they take over the ship and in the process, let the boxes drop off and float to an island.

The four animals have very different responses to being shipwrecked and also meet (hmmm, not meerkats...) and help them out.

The thing I liked the most about this was the appropriate use of music for people my age. You can probably get a CD of that, and not have to watch the movie.
