I deposited my check, got the week's money, and got groceries. More than I usually spend, but half the bill was cat litter. I came home and paid bills and bought some things I put off until I had the check.
Spirit did very well last night -- she came out and sat on my lap even though Loki and Junie were both already in the living room. I'm pretty sure she saw Loki, but I'm not sure she could tell that Junie was up on the crenellations. When I got home from the grocery and abandoned the rolling cart in the foyer for the recliner, she came right up into my lap.
The vet called me back and suggested a brand of litter called Cat Attract -- she said it's helped a lot of her clients to get cats back to litter boxes. I also ordered (from Amazon, where all this was cheaper) a CleverCat Top Opening Litter Box, which is apparently loved by every human who has one.
As I was just getting the groceries out of the back of the van and into the rolling cart, a neighbor and her new big black dog came near and he slipped the collar and dashed over. I managed to sit first, so he couldn't knock me over, but I had to insist he keep his mouth and paws out of my bags. The neighbor came by a few minutes ago to tell me that the dog pulled her so hard she just landed on her face on the ground. The doctor thought she might have a broken bone, but the x-rays don't show it. She just has bruises, but big bruises. So she's having the friend who asked her to take him to come back and take him away. Can't blame her.
