04:34 pm: Hold Queueueue
On 11/9, I went on the library's hold queueueue for Read My Pins by Madeline Albright at position 26. As of yesterday, I'm down to 18. Looks like I might get to read it about mid-March.

The vet suggested we try Prozac for Spirit, so I went out today to pick that up from the Giant. There's a higher dose to try and then another med, and then we're really running out of options. I'm going to need to nap today because I didn't get a lot of sleep last night and I'm not going to be able to do that every day. I did find a reasonably priced, well-reviewed, big cat cage, but I don't know if it would make any difference. She might yell all the time she's in there, even though she would be able to see us. (Yes, Ulrika, if I end up needing the cage, I'll look at Craigslist first, particularly because I might get the former owner to put it together for me.)

I taped the second half of Syfy's Alice last night, but I think I'm going to rewind without watching. It gets the Eight Deadly Words.

And tonight we may have rain then snow, so I may not take trash & recycling out tomorrow. Good thing Thursday and Friday are still free.

Alice on SyFy

I'm not really sure what your Eight Deadly Words are, but I watched all of this and really liked the darkness of it. Done by the same people who did Tin Man, it has the same flavor of unease. You do have to be familiar with the original Alice to truly understand all of the characters, but I think it is well worth watching.

Re: Alice on SyFy

I am familiar with the original, plus a fair amount of explication, but it still gets the Eight Deadly Words.

I felt that at first, but the characters that I liked at the beginning, I didn't like anymore. And the ones I didn't care for at the start, I liked at the end. Besides, it was loads of fun playing "where do I know that actor from?" Plus at the very end, Alice's mother's look of bewilderment was perfect and oh so funny.
The only thing that really bothered me was that they seemed to be constantly crossing the same body of water. Maybe their CGI budget only allowed them to create one fjord? LOL
