05:10 pm: Quaker Steak?
The Sunday WashPost shows where companies have approved changes in land planning and one yesterday was for Quaker Steak and Lube. Hmmmm.

I napped again yesterday -- Spirit insisted and once we were in the recliner, I wanted to as well. I had planned to watch the news, but the football went into overtime, so I set the VCR/DVD to watch that and I watched a DVD. When that was done, I found the news on the tape.

I have less pain again today and I wonder if that's because I'm napping in the recliner or just sleeping more in general.

Today I got money from the ATM, had lunch at Roys, dropped two DVDs off at the post office, and picked up groceries.

The Sunday WashPost has Parade Magazine in it and I usually skim through. Yesterday there was an interview with Matthew Morrison of Glee. Silly me, I followed the link listed and found only pictures of him and a Glee quiz.

Quaker Steak and Lube is just as it sounds, a oil change and a t-bone, in one, hopefully segregated by task, shop. I've read about the concept -i t'll be interesting to see one. Where are they planning it?

It is a great restaurant. Especially if you like wings.

And no, there are no oil changes there. While it is car themed, with vehicles on lifts inside... the vehicles are classics, antiques, muscle cars, etc that are loaned to be on display. :-)

That's a really odd idea. I'll have to check it out when it's finished.

Wow. I figured someone typed "steak" for "state." It's on 28, in Nokesville, just south of Manassas. I'll have to drive down that way and see exactly where it is.

The address turns out to be between the Burger King & McDonald's on Nokesville Rd (28) just south of the 28/PW Parkway (234 bypass) interloops. I drove by today to see if they'd stitched more land between them and they haven't, so I'm not entirely sure that's the exactly correct address.

Oh, you know, it's on the other side of 28 from the Burger King & McDonald's. I didn't look at the even/odd endings. So there's plenty of room there -- right now just unused agriculture.

Sigh. I've spent a lifetime watching farms in that county quasi-urbanize. I got lost going to my mother's house after living away for 18 months, cause they built so many new roads, not least the Parkway.

I took a round-about way to get there since we had such nice weather, and I saw a lot of streets that have left-turn lanes into grass. They work well for U-turns, but I'm pretty sure they plan to build things there. Manassas' long-term plan is to take the part of 28 between Liberia and Old Town (has all those used car places and so forth) and put in taller nicer buildings with stores/restaurants on the bottom and apartments on the top. I think they'll still need parking because it's not really central enough.
