05:37 pm: Not My Best Night
Even with cheese, I didn't get to sleep until 7am and then slept in bits. I had to be up by noon to get to the ENT at 2:15, so it wasn't as if I could just turn the alarm off. I was late to the ENT even though I left at the same time and went to the same place as Friday. There were two accidents on the interstate and then the last 4.5 miles was about 5mph, plus stops, until we were past the Beltway. The way home was much lighter and faster.

Fortunately, the ENT wasn't backed up and took me right away. He did a general checkup and asked questions. He's going to get a copy of the MRI, but he's pretty sure the radiologist would have noticed a tumor, and set up some obscure labs to do when I do regular labs. He said it will probably turn out to be just a small left ear hearing loss and we won't know why.

I went to PetSmart on the way home and got a bag of pill pockets and I plan to start using those with Junie tonight.

I'm going to go to bed now and may or may not come back later.

What is a 'pill pocket' and how would one use them with a cat?

Pill pockets are a malleable treat cylinder that's hollow and open on one end. You put the pill in and smush the open end closed and give it to the cat. Most cats really like them, but some don't. Junie has been very happy with her two instances so far. Loki is desperate for one because of the smell.

Thanks! They look like a good idea.

Sounds like your traffic is as bad as it can be here. I try hard to avoid rush hours and other known heavy traffic times, but, obviously, with appointments that's not possible.
Are those pill pockets not reusable?

It isn't nearly that bad here, where I spend most of my time, and that was probably Thanksgiving travel on Tuesday. I didn't expect it, though!

Well, the pill pockets get eaten with the pills, so you can't really get them back. The idea is that they taste and smell like treats to the cats (they make dog versions, too) so you can trick them into eating the pill.
