My upstairs neighbor has a local grandson, a teen, and a non-local grandson, an adult*. The adult used to be a Marine drill sergeant, but his vocal cords were damaged and he can only whisper. The both of them picked him up to take him to dinner yesterday (the older carefully holding an umbrella over his head and assisting him into the car), shampooed his carpet this morning, and now are back bringing Burger King for dinner. I stepped to the door to thank them for being so nice to him. The adult grandson said "He deserves it" and he does.

*Luke and his wife reared the older grandson because his mother died when he was young.

He's in his late 80s and I wish I could help him more. You don't see grandkids helping like that so often anymore.
