04:02 pm: Nightly Pain Meds
At least that's the way it's looking. My forearms hurt a lot by the time I got to bed last night and I kept rolling over and moving around before I remembered that I should take more pain meds. That put me to sleep and other than Shiva waking me up every now and then to adjust his position, I slept until the alarm went off. I think I'll take some lesser pain meds before I go to bed tonight and see how that works.

Today I took the ripest tomato and cubed it, cubed about 2oz of sharp cheddar cheese, poured on a bit of ranch dressing, and crumbled a few Triscuit on top. Made a nice salad.

The sheets are in the wash and the clean sheets partly on the bed. The next three days are supposed to be down in the 70s and much less humid, but I'll believe that when I feel it.

You are amazing.

Sorry you need the pain meds, but glad that they work for you. You manage to get so much done anyway. Good for you.

It's been cold here the last few days. We had a tornado here recently. I saw it from my porch and it was a real Golden-the-Ship moment. It's hard to comprehend the size of the thing. And how loud it is. And this was only a zero on the scale. We were lucky. It took part of our roof, but not like at Margie Lessinger's house, six blocks closer to downtown. A neighbor's tree was uprooted and landed on her roof, requiring a full replacement and there was even structural damage to window frames. Amusingly, the Evangelical Lutherans were meeting at the convention center to argue about gay rights and the tornado took out all of their food tents. People on the 19th floor of the IDS saw the plates spinning in the clouds. Only one skyway had its windows shattered. No one was seriously injured fortunately. And the Lutherans agreed to disagree, which means that churches which want gay leader who has a partner (and thus isn't celebate) to have one, while no one is forced to accept it. Great decision. And only one old guy was out there claiming the tornado was God's warning not to do it.

I heard about the tornado from other Twin City folk, but none of them had damage. I'm glad yours wasn't worse!

And I read about the Lutheran decision in the WashPost, but not about the old guy blaming God!

Cooler weather

HI this is Kerri - Shane's wife from book club.

We are in Columbus, Ohio visiting family and it's been downright chilly here! Not humid at all. I didn't think to pack anything but shorts, but I could really use a sweater or long pants. I hope this is the weather you speak of that is coming in the next few days.

It isn't bad at all today -- 70s and not very humid -- but we go back to regular September days by Wednesday or Thursday. I hope you're having a good time!
