I went out to see Luke and he loved the tomato! Hard not to, when they're so perfect. I filled out his application for absentee ballot (could have done it without him except for his Social Security number), and we talked a lot about the debate and the financial situation. Medicare won't pay for more rehab of any type, so he's going to his daughter's for a few weeks. She has steps to get in, so I won't be able to visit him until he either comes home or goes permanently to a retirement home.

I've filled the fountain and the birdfeeder since getting home, and the cats are so interested in the outdoors that I'm keeping the windows open (making me a display) for a while yet.
