Luke Recognized Me!

It's been a week since he had the eye surgery and he knew who I was without my talking! He's still seeing blurry, he won't be driving, but it's enough to get an idea of what's around him. The eye is supposed to continue to get better over the next few weeks, and I'm looking forward to that. We talked about the financial fiasco and how when things are left to the government, the rich get richer and the poor get poorer. Also, he's moving next week to a retirement home for another month or so. He doesn't need the nursing care anymore, but he does need some supervision while he practices walking and taking care of himself. His daughter doesn't know which place yet, but she's looking for one close. I took him the headphones Doris sent for him and he's really pleased to get those, although his new roommate is sufficiently senile that noise probably doesn't matter.

I've refilled the birdfeeder and am doing the unceasing laundry. I'd planned to also take recycling out and get the liver panel redo today, but I realized as I was going to bed last night that I hadn't put stuff through the shredder, and I wasn't doing anything tomorrow, so I might as well slip those over a day.
