06:54 pm: Busy Day, Time for Nap
I took the recycling out today and then went to Kaiser. The knee x-rays required strange postures and not-falling-off things and took almost an hour. Then the labs, and then I stopped by Medical Records to find out why I hadn't been called to pick up the private disability forms I left on 7/30 for my primary to fill out & sign. Their records said they went to him on 8/4 and hadn't gotten them back yet. She said she'd poke him about them and that he was the most popular doctor. I said "That's because he's the nicest" and covered my mouth since there were more members waiting.

Then onward to Gainesville. Luke was coherent today, he'd had some walking and some PT, and they're thinking he'll be there another month. He's on a regular diet so I can take him something sweet. I ran into his daughter at the clusterboxes on the way in to the condo, and she said he'll need to be somewhere for a while longer between there and here, but she doesn't know where. It depends on how well he's walking by the time he leaves the convalescent home.

When I got in and went through the mail, I had another set of forms from the private disability company and a letter wanting to know what happened to the first set. I called and was on hold for long enough that I left a message telling them what happened.

Now I'm going to fill the fountain and birdfeeder and take some codeine and nap for a while. It's not just my knees that hurt, it's the parts of me that were holding strange positions!

I hope everything will turn out well with the X-rays. When will you find out? Hope you recover quickly from that "fun."
And I hope Luke continues to recover.

Oh, I'm sure it's just more arthritis. I've been partially-paralyzed on the left side for 21 years and had to use my right leg for weight and such, so it's got 42 years of use on it. I asked her if we were heading to a knee replacement and reminded her that I can't have general anesthesia again unless I'd die without it, and she said they can do replacements with a block, but they don't happen until you hurt a lot more. Which is fine with me. I was thinking if it got to where I needed a replacement, I might have to have the wheelchair because I wouldn't be able to walk.

I hope he continues to get better, too. He really perked up when I was there, so I'll keep going twice a week.
