In Good Company

The first few minutes of this DVD made me think it was a good thing I was beading. Then it changed.

A middle-aged father is the head of the advertising sales team of a sports magazine. A twenty-something is promoted to be his boss and to bring S Y N E R G Y (symbolized by interlocking hands). He's been told to completely change how the advertising department operates and to fire a lot of people. He does this, there's a lot of conflict (plus he falls in love with the older man's daughter), the older man's wife has a baby, and things fall apart via an uncredited cameo from Malcolm McDowell. There's a twist ending which I didn't expect; that's unusual.

Not a fabulous movie, but definitely one of the better ones I've seen recently. A good couch with popcorn movie.
