06:09 pm: Horizontal Rain!
We're supposed to have thunderstorms, but I wasn't expecting horizontal rain! Maybe it will calm down by the time it hits the Mall. No ivy hacking when it's wet, so I'm just online and will change back to the Twilight Zone marathon after the news.

It's a day of celebration, but I really shouldn't add Jesse Helms' death to that.

Heh, while I don't think I'd go as far as to celebrate anybody's death, let's just say that news won't be putting a damper on any other celebrating I may have had planned.

*snrt*

Hope the weather evens out, and that the rain starts being vertical again. We had horizontal rain here a couple of weeks ago, but only for a few minutes.

Happy Fourth!

Heh -- the writers in the corner of the blogosphere that I frequent have, in fact, been celebrating the death of Helms. He used his power to make life worse for a lot of people.

Jesse tried like heck to make this world not a better place to live in, with his insistence on racism and hatred, so I say what better event to celebrate on this day of freedom?

I'm proud to say that when I lived in North Carolina, I had the chance to vote against him.

When I was about to move to North Carolina, my mother was trying to talk me out of moving so far away, and I said, "But just think, I'll be able to vote against Jesse Helms!" and she said "You have a point." Not that it helped much, but it was satisfying.
