Even More Sleeping

Last night I watched a DVD and then read the paper, getting to bed to read at 1:30pm. I finished at 5am, but came out to get the paper and sit with Spirit who seemed lonely. We watched a Three's Company; boy, is that outdated. I set the alarm at 1pm and went to sleep at 5am. I don't remember turning the alarm off, but it was off when I looked and it was 2:30pm. I thought I'd just stay a few more minutes and then I looked at the clock and it was 4pm. I had a variation of the first weird dream yesterday -- both times I was a lot younger and caring for someone teenage (first, my brother, and then a girl I don't recognize) somewhere at a campus or convention. I can't walk and keep falling. I try different kinds of shoes, nothing works, and the kids eventually go on without me.

When I got up, I had to turn the thermostat back to heat -- it's very cold outside today -- and then sat to read the front pages of today's paper sections while I watched my copy of Meet the Press. I just spent some time trying to find a new laundry hamper that rolls. All I'm finding are old-fashioned canvas hampers that are expensive and have to be put together. The one I have lost a wheel and while I can use it, it would probably be better with a four-wheeled one.

An opinion on why Americans still dislike atheists.

On the Town

When this arrived, I was surprised -- I have a professional tape of it -- but I figured I'd watch the DVD anyway.

It's three sailors who are in New York City for 24 hours who find dates for the night (all six famous actors/singers/dancers) and then dance/sing their way through the town. There's a betrayal that's fixed, and a moody dance by Gene Kelly that's two years earlier than the one in An American in Paris. I always like this, although my voice was too gravelly to sing along this time.
