14 Car Crash On An Overpass

Fortunately, only one person was hurt and not badly. People forget that bridges freeze sooner and think the shiny stuff is water, not ice. There were many other smaller crashes, but no big injuries. The snow is melting in the sun now, although the temperature is keeping the shaded snow at the same place it was last night.

The shovelers cleared the snow from the curbcut and striped area next to my handicap spot without me reminding them it's in the contract, which is unusual.

We're having another quiet day, other than the sheet washing and changing, and the kitties are all asleep.

Asimov's February 2010

Sheila wrote about two women who helped her in her career and Silverberg talked about how he thinks Clarke was a bad writer.

As to the stories, I couldn't even read two of them. One was a pastiche/homage to PKD by Damien Broderick (I read four pages) and an althist by Stephen Baxter (read two pages). They're not badly written, I just don't like PKD's vogelsangeren or althist in general.

The only story I really liked was a ghost story -- The Woman Who Waited Forever by Bruce McAllister -- and normally I wouldn't like that.
