Frost Advisory

We had that last night and apparently will tonight, too. But then it goes back up to the 70s in the day for Wednesday, which is more like this time of year. It's hard to know just what kind of clothes to wear because the temperature can be so different depending on where you are. Layering, sure, but I can't carry all the extra stuff around.

I did the grocery shopping today and since I needed cat litter and it's on the top shelf (normally I lower it to a shoulder and then to the cart, stabilizing with my left hand), I got an employee to put the boxes in the cart for me. The checkout person noticed my Ace bandage and turned one over for the scanner herself. It's a good thing I had a short list because they're doing flu shots and the area in the pharmacy where I usually rest (alone) was full of older folks.

I'm washing the cat blankies, as usual on Monday.

Things I Forgot To Post

The Rescue Remedy for Pets came on Friday and while Spirit has been much more comfortable moving around out here, she's still not going down the hall, even to the utility room. She's still worried about Junie, too. I've got more time for it to build up, though, before I talk to the vet about prescription meds.

I started the next-higher dose of thyroid and took it for two weeks and it didn't stop the shortness of breath or sweat, so my theory is wrong.

There were accidents with parts of the road blocked off on the way to the bookgroup and the way home -- probably the rain -- but both were on 25mph streets and people must have been going faster.

Saturday night Loki was curled up between my legs in the recliner and Spirit was tucked in with him, with her tail around his neck. They were very cute!

I've always admired Sheila Johnson, ex-wife of Robert Johnson, who started BET with her husband. When she got divorced and her share of the company, she wanted to build a resort/spa out in Middleburg and has never quite managed to do that. But I still thought she was admirable. She's a Democrat and is voting for the Republican candidate for governer, and doing ads for him, but recently, on camera, she made fun of the Democratic candidate's stammering. It's not that noticeable for me, my brother used to stutter all the time, but apparently she thought making fun of him was a good thing. I no longer admire her. I do wonder if this will have the macaca effect, like it did when George Allen lost to Jim Webb for the Senate.

The local news last night introduced us to Ben Huh, who owns I Can Haz Cheezburger and all those other websites. He lives locally and has become a multimillionaire with a company instead of just sitting at home and running a website about cats.
