Fatal DC Metro Train Collision

ETA: Red Line!

This happened about 5pm ET. A trailing train on the red line ran up under the last two cars of the train in front of it, which was stopped (the reason isn't known yet). Four people are dead, including the operator of the trailing train, two with potentially-fatal injuries, twelve with moderate injuries, and the other 50-or-so (the firefighters aren't sure they've found everybody) are walking-wounded. Metro's worst incident in their history. The police chief has strongly told people not to come down and try to find their relatives because it will just make things worse. She gave out a phone number for those folks to call.

My First "Event" In A While

I dropped a DVD off at the post office and got groceries. When I got home I put the cold things in the fridge & freezer and sat down at the computer to get my breath back. I was answering email when I suddenly couldn't read what I'd typed. This hasn't happened for several months and my neurologist had given me a med for it, but we didn't know if it was working or not because I could have just not had an event, a false negative. So I went to bed and slept for about 2.5 hours and when I got back, not only could I read, but I turned on the news and was shocked by the train collision. I emailed the neurologist.

I'm going to start washing cat blankies soon and I'll try to get to bed earlier since I have to be at Kaiser Penderbrook (outside Fair Oaks Mall ring road) by 7:45am on Wednesday and I usually turn the light out at 3am. It doesn't usually work for me to get to bed earlier, but I'm going to try for the next two days.
