Cooking and Cats

I pulled a small pork chop out of the freezer yesterday and it's now ready to be cooked. I'm going to make a mushroom sauce to go with it and boil some red potatoes. I already made a tomato/orange/onion salad/salsa for the side.

I was watching Shiva bathe Spirit while they sat in the recliner and then he put one leg up and started washing his butt. Spirit tried as hard as she could to get her head between his mouth and butt so she could get more bathing. He refused to yield and she finally gave up.

Migration: Species Imperative #2 by Julie E. Czerneda

The good: This is actually a good book, decent science extrapolation, good plot, etc. The bad: You do have to read the first book to get this one.

Our protagonist, Mac, still has hair issues, but they are more reasonable this time. We meet other aliens and see how they work together (or not). There's a strong example of interdisciplinary work shown throughout the book which really makes the aliens and humans working together realistic. Her lovelife with the trojan heats up and there are plenty of surprises. I'm going to start the last of the trilogy tonight and see how that goes.
