An "Idea" Night

I'd set the alarm for 11am and turned the light out at 3am, but I was still awake at 5am because my brain wouldn't shut up. I turned on the light, wrote down and doodled ideas, and turned the light back off. I was still awake at 6am and decided to come out and see if the WashPost was here yet. Nope, so I worked on some of the easy/short ideas and when the WashPost came, I did my putting-in-order skimming-the-front-pages bit. I had oatmeal and cranberry juice, but waited until 9am to feed the cats.

Spirit nosed at the wet food, but actually ate some of the hard snackies. I put what was left of the wet food in the fridge. I started changing the sheets and doing laundry then and am still doing that. Then I started actually reading the WashPost and at 11am, was nodding off. I slept for a couple of hours and may try again soon.

A Very Long Engagement

Audrey Tautou stars in this film of a young French woman trying to find her fiance after World War I. Five soldiers were killed by the Germans and her's was one of them. But was he? Everybody she finds who "knows" something, knows something different. Sometimes it's assumptions, sometimes the wrong person, sometimes just confusion. As she works her way through all the paths, she learns a lot about not only the war and politics, but about herself. I really enjoyed this.
