Still Not Sleeping, Now Dizzy

So I went to bed at a reasonable time last night (knowing I wouldn't get enough sleep because Lucila was coming, but I'd make it up while she was here) and couldn't sleep again. I tried getting up for about 30 minutes at 6:30am and brought in the paper and skimmed the front pages and put it at the bottom of the pile. Went back to bed and slept off and on, but more off, I think. When the alarm went off at 10am, I opened my eyes and the bookcases were repeating -- like the video version of a stuck LP. They were moving to the right and then starting from the left and moving to the right and repeat. They calmed down as I woke up, but I've been dizzy all day.

I let Lucila in and she asked what was wrong (and when she left, told me to call her if I needed her help) and I tucked into the recliner, but didn't sleep until she'd been here about an hour. After I paid her and let her out, I went back to sleep off and on until almost 6pm. I'm running about five or six hours out of 24, which isn't enough these days. I'm going to take codeine early enough tonight that I'll be able to drive by 2:30pm tomorrow. I hope.

I'm probably not eating enough, either, so I have some elbow mac boiling on the stove and some bottled sauce ready to be heated. I plan to have a cheese sandwich tonight.

I'll ask the rheumatologist about all this tomorrow, although she may just say "ask the doctors who specialize in that." She does get the immobile morning hand, all the skin splits, the arthritis in my right thumb, the new arthritis in my left hand, and the right ankle that hurts and keeps giving out.

The Australian Fires

I keep seeing that little koala with the firefighter, and it's cute and I'm glad the koala is alive, but it doesn't show the extent of the disaster in Victoria AU. My friend Doris, who comments here, has put together a list of links -- news, and places to give -- on her blog.
