I took the trash and recycling out today then went to Kaiser to get a phenobarb level drawn. The lab was busy and I ended up sitting next to the security guard. We were talking about how bad the storm was last night and he said the satellite had fallen on the roof. I thought a second and realized he meant the receiver, since surely I would have heard about whatever was left of a satellite landing on the roof. Plus, a storm won't budge a satellite. The TVs were out -- they usually show a cooking channel -- and apparently everybody was asking why.
I went on to Chili's for lunch and had iced tea and the Southwest Cobb Salad. They've changed it a bit since I had it last. Half the chicken, which is fine with me, no avocadoes, and instead of diced tomatoes, canned tomatoes & jalapenos. It was still good.
Spirit and Shiva have been nice together again, so maybe that was a one-time spat.
This is why it takes me so long online. About 30 minutes ago, I noticed that it was getting dark, so I got up to close the shades. I closed the ones in the living room and then as I went into the kitchen, I realized I should have started the rehydration fluid when I started LJ. So I picked two "peach tea" flavor packets from the container. Then I moved to close the kitchen window and while telling Spirit what a good girl she was, and so pretty and brave, I noticed Shiva wasn't on the heating pad with her. He wasn't in the living room, either.
I put the packets in my pocket and went down to the bedroom and found him asleep on the cat blankie at the bottom of the bed and I hugged and kissed him and told him how pretty he was. I noticed I hadn't taken yesterday's clean laundry out of the hamper and thought this would be a good time to do that. I folded and shook out clothes and hung them up or put them in a drawer, and folded the towels and hankies and put those in their places.
I headed back out to the kitchen to make up the rehydration fluid and when I opened the fridge to get the Rubbermaid bottle with the cold water in it (this stuff tastes better if it's really cold), I noticed the iced tea pitcher was empty. So I pulled both the bottle and the pitcher. I made up the rehydration fluid first and then set up the pitcher with it's machine and nice loose Darjeeling to make tea.
I was coming back to the desk when I noticed that Spirit had moved to the very front edge of the recliner (as a chair) and she only does that when she doesn't know what to do. So I picked her up, kissed her, and took her down to the bed. She walked over to Shiva and put her head down so he could wash it, but when I got up to come back out here, she followed me. I sat down to type this and heard her eating dry food in the kitchen, and then watched her walk back to the bedroom to sleep with Shiva.
