Asimov's January 2008

Sheila has an interesting editorial on "Harry Potter and the Future of Reading" in this issue.

I also liked:

1. Alastair Baffle's Emporium of Wonder by Mike Resnick -- two guys have been business partners until they go into a retirement home, is it okay to become young again?

2. "The Beautiful and the Damned" by F. Scott Fitzgerald by Tanith Lee -- there's a new plague out and cities are being domed to keep it in, but it's not the kind of plague you expect.

Errands Lead to Pain

Lucilla came early and I slept in the recliner with Giorgio and Spirit until Kaiser called me to remind me of tomorrow's appointment. When Lucilla finished and I got up, I couldn't find Spirit -- I was going down the hall opening doors and calling her and when I came back out, she was tucked in on the keyboard, hidden by the desk. Poor baby.

I went to do labs but forgot and peed before I went so I'll have to give that sample tomorrow when I see the psych. Then I got wet food and snackies from PetSmart, had my hair cut at Supercuts (I had a coupon and they're a buck cheaper to start with), and had lunch at Uno.

All that sitting up and walking has made me hurt a lot so I'm going to nap before I start LJ.
