I watched the first two episodes of this on PBS, but they were on a Sunday and I was timeshifting like crazy, and I thought "BBC! Probably on Netflix!" and sure they were. They came to the top this week. This is a story of what happened in the Channel Islands during WWII. It's a fictional island, and the six episodes follow three families who don't evacuate as well as the German occupation of the island. It's a compelling tale and one I recommend. It does end with some straggly plot threads -- some folks commenting on Netflix say "we know how the war ends" -- and I think it could have used something more definite. Still, well worth watching.
