06:30 pm: Trashy!
The renters finished moving out last night with a party and today there's trash all over the front lawn. I can't see most of the back lawn. I emailed the board president because the two of us in our section who would be willing to pick it up, Luke and me, can't. Plus, the lamp next to my van is on during the day. It needs the light sensor adjusted or replaced.

In a review of his memoir, we find that Clarence Thomas compares himself to Tom Robinson from To Kill A Mockingbird." That makes Anita Hill white. I wonder if she's noticed.

Tomorrow, Comicmix.com will start new free comics! Okay, most are not my kind of thing, but they may be yours. I'm curious about The Adventures of Simone & Ajax! which is about a time-traveling young woman and intelligent green dinosaur.

Could you link to wherever you got the title and summary info from? The link you give here is amazingly uninformative. And does Comicmix have an LJ syndication yet?

From further down the main page -- Comicmix.com. I've been reading them for a while because Andy Wheeler got a links and graphic novel review gig from them and I wanted to support him. Now that he has a real job, he's just doing the graphic novel review. You have to go all the way to the bottom and click on Next Page to start seeing the summaries of the new comics. The actual comics start tomorrow, so there may be info then, too.

I don't know if they'll have an LJ syndication and since it's annoying to sign up to comment and I've already done it, I'll comment on that link and ask.

Okay, that's better. So it's new comics, some in old series. It sorta sounds like at least some will be multiple pages per update.

And trying to plug in the RSS link to LJ syndication system, gave me comicmix2, but it's never been updated (there seems to be an error in the script).

I don't know enough of how their RSS is set up to know whether that will get you the articles, too, or just the comics. Nobody's answered me yet, I'll let you know when they do.

I particularly like Martha Thomasas' articles, but most of the articles are about comics or comics-related stuff.

Their VP for operations says no syndication, but I pointed out the RSS symbol to him. We'll see.

He says some things (probably articles) will be syndicated, but not the comics. They've written a new comics reader which is very nice and apparently that won't syndicate. Someone commented today that it works well on an iPhone, though.

Anita Hill didn't destroy Clarence Thomas's reputation—he did that himself, by mounting a sleazy defense that involved attacking her, blocking other female employees from testifying, and arguing that doubt as to his innocence shouldn't block confirmation. Those are the tactics you use if all you care about is getting on the court; if you care about your reputation, you do what Louis Brandeis did and insist that the confirmation hearings be extended in order to fully investigate all the charges.

According to the WashPost review, he specifically puts her in the white woman's role as his accuser. Now, I agree that it wasn't her fault, but his, but we're talking about his memoir here.

Anita Hill's comment about dear old Clarence's attempt to rehabilitate himself(I'm sorry, I have a thing about black men named Clarence) was 'whoop-de-damn-do'.
