Marrow by Robert Reed

I always read the front pages before starting the book and this one had a bit about a portion, much changed since, being in SFA, so I knew I'd read it. I didn't know I'd remember it so strongly, even though the book starts before the SFA portion. This is a complicated book, lots of sub-plots, about a giant ship found wandering space. Humans fight to own it and do, and with vastly lengthened lives, they decide to make it a cruise ship for all the races they pass on their way. The captains -- humans in charge -- run the ship but 100 of the best captains disappear. We learn where they disappear, and from then on, the complications multiply. The book could have used a proof-reader, but I enjoyed it anyway.
